Chamula

Chamula’s footwear is rooted in the mountain village of San Juan Chamula in Chiapas, Mexico, where designer Yuki Matsuda first encountered and fell in love with local artisan traditions during his travels in the 1990s. Based in Hermosa Beach, California, Matsuda leads Chamula through his Meg Company studio, blending Mexican craftsmanship with his Japanese-American design sensibility. Each pair of shoes is crafted by skilled indigenous artisans in Mexico using vegetable‑tanned leather.
