Brooklyn We Go Hard 'Hermosa' S/S 2014
For the SS14 season we are extremely pleased to welcome Brooklyn We Go Hard, or BWGH for short, as the newest addition to our selection of brands. Well known for their 'Brooklyn Parle Français' sweateshirts.
BWGH was founded in 2010 by two Parisian friends who were passionate about exploring new horizons in urban culture for a long time. They set out to create a multidisciplinary brand that highlights the work of the ones who are part of today's culture, through the actions of creating young crew of photographers, organisation of cultural events and publication of their bi-annual publication 'Le Magazine'.
Each collection is designed in accordance to cultural references and made to be worn by our passionate and open-minded generation.
The BWGH 'Hermosa' Collection
For their Spring/Summer 2014 collection, BWGH let themselves be inspired by the horizon; a perfect and endless line symbolizing the beginning of every possibility. BWGH worked on the codes of the '70s and '80s surfers from photographs from Leroy Grannis' universe. The greatest "surfotographer" ever was born on the very same beach that gave its name to the collection: Hermosa. A beach that he has walked along for over 40 years, trying to capture the essence of an era and a way of thinking.
The collection brings back the style of those decades, gone but timeless. Joyful and colorful prints. As a signature, the horizon line punctuated the collection, highlighting the fabrics’ graphics and pigments coming from Japan, Scotland and Italy. The knitted pieces in moss stitch can be associated with linen trousers and shorts to face the heat waves. Their unique colors, developed on ready-to-dye fabrics, explore the range of summer tones.
