#6 by designer and artist — Rosa Shepherd

Rosa Shepherd is a designer and artist based in Amsterdam. She recently graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie with a project called A Duet, inspired by dance movements. When seeing Rosa's art for the first time, we knew it would fit perfectly in the store, as the pieces are meant to be touched and moved rather than hung on a wall. A selection of works from Rosa’s A Duet series will be on display in our store. Seamlessly blending with the interior, the objects nevertheless stand out through their intriguing forms. To get to know her a little better, we asked Rosa to share her go-to spots in Amsterdam.
San Serriff — One of my very favourite art book stores in Amsterdam with the kindest people.
Kometen Brood Loket — A sweet place at Marineterrein to visit for coffee by the water.
Tigris En Eufraat — A favorite place for falafel!
Sauna Deco — I don’t want to say it yet, but soon when the colder days start to hit and the Winter blues begin, an occasional visit to Sauna Deco fixes a lot.
Amsterdecks — Equally however, jumping into Nieuwe Meer from this spot is amazing and completely free.
Xi’an Delicious Foods — A truly delicious place for hand-pulled noodles.
Flevoparkbad — For any final warm days that Amsterdam gives us, I recommend visiting the lane swimming in Flevoparkbad.
A Perfect Weekend — If I could recommend a pretty stellar Saturday morning, it might go something like this… getting a croissant from the French bakery Le Fournil de Sébastien, taking it to one of the benches across the road near the Skatepark and catching the morning sun (with a sudoku propels this equation to another level, but enjoying with a friend is equally as fantastic).

Curated Tunes
Listen to Joep's favourites for a hot weekend.

The Hand — The best selection of high-end artisanal shoes in Amsterdam (and I dare to say the whole Netherlands!). Pop in for a nice talk with owner Dennis and a glimpse at very fine leathers, which I hope to one day be able to actually afford.
Caffenation — My local coffee spot, where I treat myself to a coffee and a pastry every weekend as a tradition. Sweet people, good coffee and good energy overall.
Bon Burger — As summer approaches, what’s better than sitting on a terrace with a good burger and very fine wine? As much as I try to be very healthy fitboy, this is where I indulge in some greasy delights.
Waxwell Records — Amazing selection and legendary owner Taco, rooted in hip-hop and all styles that brought that genre to life, you can find something here for every budget and preference. I love the hip-hop bargain section where I more often than not find good stuff for an even better price.
Onigiri YA! — Wanting a snack that’s somewhat healthy and above all fairly affordable? Look no further, this spot’s got you covered. The Japanese supermarket in the back is a true gem as well.
Matsuura Discotheque — One of my favourite record sellers in Amsterdam that doesn’t have a physical shop! Originally from Japan, Yuya is an all-round sweet guy and true expert specialised in Japanese records, mostly from the ‘80s. You can be sure to encounter things that are extremely hard to find here, especially in this good of a condition, TIP! (although he mainly sells on Discogs, he frequently sells on record fairs/markets, follow him on Instagram to know when and where).
Café De Linden — If I feel like leaving my neighbourhood on a weekend morning, this is where I go. The perfect blend between forward thinking and traditional offerings in their food, drinks and overall atmosphere.
