Authenticity with Vans Anaheim
If you think of Vans nowadays you instantly flashback to the uprising times of the infamous California skate culture. Off the wall they, not only invaded the streets of L.A but were soon to be seen all-over the world.
As authentic the shoes still remain, is the story behind it. Four guys opened their doors just with the mind-set of creating the perfect fit for their off-grid sport. Based in Anaheim their 120m2 store was directly connected to the factory, selling only a handful of simple canvas footwear. Over 50 years later Vans pays tribute to such beginnings and reintroduces the “Anaheim Factory Pack”. Calling up those early designs, every element of the pack can be dated back to the late 60’s and early 70’s.
Compounded in three footwear models – the Authentic 44, Old Skool 36 and Sk8-Hi 38 - each style is signified by numbers to honour the original design-mould.
Utilized marshmallow sidewalls with a higher profile are treated with a slight sheen and give that extra support you need. Featured in heavy a 10-oz. canvas, colour-ways include racing red, navy, light grey and black and white. Their cherry on the top is the emphasized comfort, that Vans has equipped on each one of their silhouettes. With their premium UltraCush footliner, it is something that not only speaks to the O.G, but invites everyone to have a piece of that California based cake.
