Laniakea Crew Neck Sweatshirt in Anthracite

The Laniakea Crew Neck Sweatshirt by Sunray Sportswear is a heavyweight cotton sweatshirt in Anthracite, made in Japan in the brand's vintage-athletic tradition. Its name nods to Laniakea, the Hawaiian surf spot on Oahu's North Shore, while the design takes its cues from 1950s American football sweats originally worn as padded undergarments.

It is cut from a 450gsm Japanese brushed fleece spun from recycled cotton — noticeably heavier than a standard sweat — and knitted on antique loopwheel machines. The tubular construction leaves the fabric with no side seams, so the Anthracite sweatshirt keeps its shape and resists twisting over time.

The Laniakea has a relaxed, boxy fit with a slight drop shoulder, finished with a classic crew neckline carrying a single sweat-catcher 'V' insert for added structure, plus longer ribbed trims with a 10cm cuff and hem rib.
