The All Handsewn Maine Guide Ox w/ 2021 in Perla is a lower-profile interpretation of Yuketen’s Maine Guide moccasin, rooted in the traditions of early wilderness footwear.

Handcrafted in Maine, USA, this style represents one of Yuketen’s most complex handsewn constructions. The upper is made from full-grain flesh-out leather by Opera Leather in Tuscany, where the hide is reversed so the soft, suede-like flesh side faces outward, while the smooth grain sits against the foot. This construction maintains the strength and structure of full-grain leather while offering a comfortable feel without the need for additional lining.

Multiple pieces of leather are hand-sewn and hand-lasted on Yuketen’s proprietary last, originally developed in the 1950s for American-made moccasins. The vamp is cinched at the base to help shape the shoe more closely to the natural contours of the foot, supporting a more integrated fit over time.

Underfoot, a layered construction of vegetable-tanned leather insoles and midsoles is combined with steel shank reinforcements to support the arch and heel. This helps distribute weight more evenly and reduces fatigue during wear.

The shoe is finished with a Vibram Morflex sole, offering a lightweight feel with oil-resistant properties, completing a design that balances traditional moccasin construction with long-term durability.
